Overview
Kosovo’s Dual Vocational Education and Training (Dual VET) system continues to expand, strengthening practical learning opportunities for students and deepening cooperation between vocational schools and businesses.
In the 2025/2026 school year, more than 1,000 new students enrolled in Grade 10 within the Dual VET system.
At the same time, five additional vocational schools joined the programme, further expanding its reach across the country.
Strengthening teaching capacity
As part of ongoing efforts to improve the quality of practical training, the third group of Professional Practice Teacher (PPT) training was launched in October 2025.
This brings the total number of trained and certified teachers to 180.
Key progress of Dual VET in Kosovo
The system has achieved significant growth and impact, with key results including:
- 32 PPTs certified as Trainers of Trainers (ToT)
- 180 Professional Practice Teachers trained
- 32 vocational schools participating
- 17 municipalities involved
- Around 2,300 students in the programme
- More than 800 partner enterprises
Conclusion
Through close cooperation between teachers, school directors, students, municipalities, and businesses, the Dual VET system continues to strengthen the connection between education and the labour market.
This expansion reflects a growing commitment to building a skilled and employable workforce in Kosovo.
